Welcome to the eleventh year of the Staunton Music Festival |

The festival includes concerts of Baroque, Classical, and Romantic chamber music, a fully-staged Baroque opera, and premieres by contemporary Virginian composers. This year's opera is Handel's Acis and Galatea. 2008 marks the inauguration of our Emerging Composers Program. Selected graduate student composers will be in-residence throughout the Festival working with SMF composers-in-residence to create new works for the Young Artists to perform. This year's International Weekend (Sept. 13 & 14) will explore the theme of Chinese music. |
